Designing good exams

Examinations play a central role in university studies

They give the learners feedback on where they stand in relation to the learning goals, decide on their progress and thereby significantly shape their learning behavior. When and what is learned depends mainly on the examinations.
The design of good examinations is therefore of particular importance for a sustainable and appropriate learning process for the students. At the same time, the design and evaluation of good examinations is a great challenge for teachers – not least because of the often high number of participants in courses.
At the Center for Teaching and Learning we support you in the design and assessment of examinations. Please do not hesitate to contact us if you have any questions or need advice.
