Examination of the Capabilities of Computer Vision-based Object Tracking for Industrial Augmented Reality Applications with the Microsoft HoloLens
Due to increasing demands on productivity and quality, automation in aircraft production and maintenance is becoming increasingly important. The approach of the project MiReP is to reduce the effort in the planning and commissioning of automated processes by superimposing an interactive robot simulation onto the real plant by means of Augmented Reality. In order to implement such industrial applications accurate object tracking needs to be employed. In this thesis the capabilities of computer vision based object tracking (more specifically model based tracking) using the Microsoft HoloLens shall be examined.
