PROFESSORS’ LOUNGE – IMPULSES FOR TEACHING

In a small group of people you work and discuss along your own teaching and research. The series is organized by the Vice President Teaching Prof. Dr. Wolfgang Kersten in cooperation with the ZLL.

Location: TU&YOU Lounge (Building A)
Time: 4 pm – 7 pm
Speakers: Prof. Dr. Doris Weßels (FH Kiel) and Prof. Dr. Maximilian Kiener (Ethics in Technology / TU Hamburg).

Both will give short speeches and enrich our discussion about experiences with AI in the last months, possible applications, ways of dealing with it and current challenges at TU Hamburg.
The framework is an informal exchange among colleagues.

Prof. Dr. rer. nat. Jörn Loviscach – Professor of Engineering Mathematics and Computer Engineering at the University of Applied Sciences Bielefeld, former Deputy Editor-in-Chief at c’t magazine for computer technology.

Katrin Billerbeck – Deputy Managing Coordinator of the Center for Teaching and Learning (ZLL) / Expert on Examination Concepts

The impulses will be given in German, the discussion will be bilingual in English and German.

The focus will be on didactical, legal, infrastructural and technical aspects of e-assessment at TUHH. The event is organized by the Center for Teaching and Learning (ZLL) in cooperation with the MINTFIT Hamburg Office (AMH). After a short presentation of assessment methods and tools (especially the YAPS examination system) as well as an exchange about the conception of online-supported examination tasks, the event offers space for discussion and exchange of experiences.

In recent years new study programs have been successfully introduced and existing ones were revised fundamentally.

In this Professors’ Lounge we want to exchange ideas and find answers to questions like: 

What is the potential of systematic further development? What does an attractive study program that is well coordinated in terms of content and didactics look like? What do you need as a study program director or module supervisor in order to continuously develop the study programs and make them attractive?

Prof. Dr. Peter Riegler is a physicist who currently teaches mathematics and computer science at Ostfalia University. In 2019, he was awarded the Ars Legendi Prize for excellent university teaching.
